Online Purchase With Purchase Promotion (PWP) by Danone in France

Danone, a French dairy brand, is running an online PWP promotion on its sub brand Danette. Danette is specialized in chocolate yogurts. Basically, by purchasing Danette yogurts you receive discounts on Danone promotional merchandise which is sold on the Danone website.

Items you can purchase include blackboards, chocolate fondue sets, aprons, spoons, mini bowls etc. All are branded and designed with one common pattern : multicolored Danette pots!

The rules of this PWP promotion are quite complicated which makes the promotion less attractive to customers for redeeming the promos.   That said, the PWP mechanism allows for the development of some very interesting gifts.

Firstly, customers will need to visit the Danone website to download and print the “Collector” sheet. Then, each time they buy Danettes they will need to cut out the “D” from “Danette” on the lid of each pot and stick it onto the “Collector” sheet. Finally when they have enough “D”s they send the sheet plus some extra cash to Danone to receive their gift 6 to 8 weeks later…

So even if you do get the Danone merchandise at a cheaper price and that the gifts are of good quality, we still find it too much hassle for your customers. Simple and fast promotions are generally the most efficient!
