How to get to the Canton fair?

Traveling to one of the largest trade shows in the world can be a daunting task, if not prepared properly. Although with proper planning, it should be relatively simple due to the close proximity between Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Depending on whether you’re going to go to the Global Sources and HKTDC fairs first, you may very well be traveling to the Canton fair from Hong Kong.

The Canton fair in Guangzhou can be easily reached via the train, by firstly departing from Hung Hom KCR station in Kowloon, which arrives at Guangzhou East Railway Station – this route takes just under 2 hours. While and before the Canton fair is being run, tickets sell out very quickly, so it’s highly recommended to book your train ticket well in advance, this can be done at China Travel Service. You also need to take into account your Visa, and ensure you have that well in advance also.

Upon arrival at Guangzhou East Railway Station, there are many booths along the way to the entrance which offer a coach service to the major hotels within the city, although it’s worth getting a cab, as they tend to be cheaper. Although you need to remember to print out the address of your hotel, to show the Chinese taxi drivers, as the majority don’t speak English.

Then you can finally visit the Canton fair!

All of these fairs make the ideal opportunity for you to meet the ODM team, while also learning about the latest trends and expand your knowledge about how mass production works from within China.
