The 1st October is a national memorial day in China as on 1 st October 1949 the People’s Republic of China was founded. Then in 1999, in order to promote domestic tourism, Chinese government re-arranged weekends so that workers could have 1 week holidays – called Golden Week and expand the tourism market by making longer travel distance.

How can Golden Week holiday affect your business?
The Golden Week Holidays in China will affect production time and delivery as all factories and companies close for one week – from 1st October to 8th October 2017. This means that the production cycle will be on hold during that period. Placing your order in advance before September 15th will ensure you to get in production slot right after the holidays. Otherwise, your order might get in the long queue and be delayed until the factory is done with the projects, allocated beforehand.

In September ODM we always advise our clients to place their orders rather sooner than later since all the world is sourcing from China for Christmas and everyone is aiming at delivery dates in November and December.
Please note that there might be also delays in delivery dates as well since courier and forwarding services will be closed for 1 week.
