SERAP stands for Small Entrepreneur Research Assistance Program. The program assists technopreneur start-ups and technological companies to carry out R&D projects over periods up to 24 months. Funding support of up to HK$ 4 million is available for each approved project.
The aim of this program is to turn practical innovative and technological ideas into successful businesses. It is open to HK companies with less than 100 employees.
SERAP will neither claim your company’s equity nor intellectual property rights arising from the projects it funds – however the fund needs to be repaid when/if the business has generated profits from the project. Successful applicants will have to contribute on a dollar-for dollar basis to the project cost.
Applicants are also eligible to apply for hiring interns to assist under the Internship Programme for the funded project.
