Guinness, a popular Irish stout brand, has had a brief hiatus in its promotional efforts for some time now.  Now that the brand has resumed its marketing push it is going big with 2 simultaneous GWP promotions in Hong Kong’s convenience stores – the perfect platform to improve sales of individual cans.

The choice of gifts featured shows the apparent market that Guinness is trying to target; working professionals/expats. The items in signature piano black, create a sleek overall look – a classy gift to spur on customers to make the purchase.

The beer market here in Hong Kong is highly fragmented and brands like Guinness are often overshadowed by the likes of San Miguel with a local brewery and concrete fan base here. Looking to build its own fan base as well, Guinness is taking baby steps towards that goal, adopting promotional products with high usability and visibility factors.. 

Suggest to do something funky like a Bottle Cap Dartboard or a Upside down glass for its next promotion. Would love to brainstorm and work with the Irish brand in near future..

To sidetrack a little, Guinness World Record Holders are making a visit to Hong Kong between the dates of 18th – 21st August. They will be performing at City Plaza, a must visit if you are a fan of extremes.
