Facebook like gifts are extremely popular and we mentioned them recently on the Marketing Gift Blog. The HKTDC are stepping up their social media activism and whilst visiting the Wine & Spirit fair I stopped by their gift counter. Simply Follow the trade show on Facebook or We Chat (a similar Chinese based service) and you can pick up a free gift.

I actually opened We Chat and scanned in the bar code, but I guess 90% of our customers would be more at home using Facebook. In any case the result was the same. We got 2 “Facebook like gifts” Notice the many QR codes to click depending on your media preferences. I wish I could see the stats.
Which Facebook like gifts would you choose?
The Stylus Pen came in a simple pouch but the trouble was that it took too great an effort to twist the top and release the pen mechanism. In the end, I resorted to a silicone rubber kitchen gadget for sticky power and leverage. Not a good result.
On the other hand, we just love the wine charms, but they are very different from those you can see on this link. We prefer this current one since the silicone does not make the same irritating noise that the metal makes on the glass. That said, the perceived value might be a bit less. These are easy to mould in more custom shapes and perhaps including more elements and materials inside will give a higher end feel.
