Molded pulp packaging, also known as fibre packaging is made from fibres of natural materials such as sugarcane, corn, bamboo and wheat straw as well as recyclable objects like paper and cardboard. They are mixed with water to form a slurry that will undergo wet or dry pressing to form the molded pulp packaging we all know.
However, it is called molded pulp packaging since its shape and size are decided right from the beginning. Unlike flat papers, cardboard and plastics. Moreover, its finished colour depends on the materials used to form the pulp packaging.
