Stone paper, also known as rock paper and mineral paper is a durable product made from 80% calcium carbonate and high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
First, the calcium carbonate is made into powder. After that, it is processed into pellets by adding HDPE. Lastly, manufactured into a strong stone paper that can be used in various ways.
Consequently, calcium carbonate is typically found in limestones and marbles. These are natural materials abundant on Earth which could also be recycled endlessly in contrast to papers which can only be recycled 5-7 times.
Manufacturers also buy these marbles from construction sites. Thus, no material is wasted in the creation and recycling of stone paper.
