Now, the long-anticipated socks for the Year of The Rat next year are finally here! This year, we have designs in multiple color combinations! In addition, we also designed the custom laminated card with hanger to hold the socks folded neatly in place.
Year of The Rat Socks
In the Chinese Zodiac, the rat symbolizes intelligence, quick-wittedness, resourcefulness, energy, and sharpness. If you were born in 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, or 2008, you were born in the Year of The Rat! People born in the Year of the Rat are said to show these aspects strongly in their personalities.

According to an interesting story about the rat in the Chinese Zodiac, the Jade Emperor held a competition to decide the Zodiac animals. The quick-witted rat, knowing that it would have to come up with a creative way to win, asked the tenacious ox to carry him across the river. Upon crossing the river, the rat immediately jumped down and crossed the finish line before the ox, winning the race and becoming the first of the Zodiac animals!

We are continuing our annual tradition of designing custom promotional socks for Chinese New Year. Earlier this year for the Year of The Pig, we did something different, pairing the pig design with the breast cancer pink ribbon and coming up with numerous breast cancer awareness merchandise to raise awareness for breast cancer. In addition, 20% of all sales revenue from the Year of the Pig merchandise was also donated to breast cancer charities around the world.

What are socks made of?
Like every garment out there, socks can be made out of a combination of textile fabrics to give it breathability and stretchability. For our ODM CNY Lucky Socks, we use 76% Cotton, 22% Polyester and 2% Spandex.
How do I design socks?
Digitally, the socks designs are transfered into a digital grid map using a specialist computer software. Each individual square represents a sewing point whilst the shading represents the different colours of yarn needed for stitching.
